The Packers broke the Internet

Ok, maybe not in the strictest sense, but Monday saw some truly seismic shifts in the landscape of the Green Bay Packers. As Jersey Al wrote in his Confessions of a Polluted Mindset column this week: For our Green Bay Packers, who make it an annual habit of not being involved on the first day of free agency, to double down and actually go get a premium free agent player and the one we fans were all clamoring for? Our free agent crush? This is not how the Green Bay Packers do business. Well said, Al.

As I (Aaron) told several people this week, I’ve been obsessively covering the Packers and creating content around Packers news since 2007 and Monday’s whiplash-like news cycle was without question the craziest avalanche of Packers news within the confines of a single day that I have ever experienced.

While we won’t know the results of Brian Gutekunst’s bold decisions for many years, I will say I am extremely happy as a Packers fan that the man in charge of guiding the Packers roster isn’t afraid to make those tough decisions for what he sees as necessary steps to not only bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown, but to ensure that this franchise is in the hunt long-term.

Brian Gutekunst Has Earned the Benefit of the Doubt

Gutekunst has got it right more often than not when it comes to releasing veterans. Those moves hurt at the time and were not easy decisions, but they worked out for the best. None of them went on to prove Gutekunst wrong, although Rodgers is yet to have his chance.

David Bakhtiari makes time to chat with CHTV Patreon members during our weekly happy hour.

Cory’s Corner: The Packers got better

You can be upset about what happened on Monday, but know that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst made the Packers better. Think about that for a second. He made the Packers, a team that was razor close to beating the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, even better.
