Compelling Storylines For The Upcoming Season
Finally, with the end of all the off-season and pre-season jawboning, speculating and prognosticating, it’s time to focus on grounding the Birds on Friday in Brazil.
The bet here is that the game will be decided by who can run the ball most effectively, and in turn by the performance of the offensive lines. The Eagles paid serious money for Saquon Barkley, who when healthy is still a beast. And he is healthy. Jeff Hafley's scheme prioritizes max pressure on the quarterback from all angles, but that approach will fizzle if Barkley goes off. This will be a big test for a middling linebacker corps that will likely be missing 2nd round pick Edgerrin Cooper, who barely practiced during the preseason due to a hamstring injury. Even if he’s healthy, it’s hard to imagine letting Cooper play in his first NFL game with so little practice time. Quay Walker will have the green dot, and needs to have a big game. The Eagles will target the Green Bay linebackers as the weakest link, and even if Hafley regularly drops a safety down to help, Walker must perform up to his draft status or it will be a long day for the Packers.
Similarly, the Packers offensive line will need to spring some holes for Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson, which happened too infrequently in the preseason. This is a line more suited to pass protection, but it can do some damage in space. When healthy, Jacobs is a multi-dimensional playmaker, and it would not surprise me to see him getting several targets as a pass-catcher. He’ll also likely get a lot of touches overall, given how thin the Packers are at running back after losing AJ Dillon. Wilson should have plenty of chances to make his mark in this game, especially since we’re unlikely to see much of rookie MarShawn Lloyd, if at all. If the run game can get going early, a lot will open up for Love and his bevy of receivers. It will also be intriguing to see how often LaFleur puts Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft on the field at the same time, to help with run support if nothing else.
Lock in for an epic Week 1 contest which in addition to being historic for its locale, should be a great football game.
Packer Transplants LIVE: Ready for Brazil

What To Expect From Green Bay's Game In Brazil
This Friday night, the Packers will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Neo Química Arena, also known as Corinthians Arena, in São Paulo, Brazil. This matchup marks the first NFL regular-season game in Brazil. Notably, this continues Matt LaFleur’s streak of not having a Week 1 game at Lambeau Field since he took over as head coach.
The Packers have a massive following in Brazil, making them the most popular NFL team in the country. Green Bay supporters from across Brazil and South America will be gathering in São Paulo by Friday. However, fans representing all 32 teams are expected to attend the game, and there’s a strong chance of a significant neutral audience. While a home-field advantage for the Packers isn’t guaranteed, it’s almost certain that this won’t feel like an Eagles home game. The game could easily tilt in favor of the Packers in terms of crowd support. From a competitive standpoint, Green Bay has the potential to play up to ten games with a supportive environment this season, while facing just seven true road games.
Is the Packers vs Eagles game in Brazil being moved?
Previous wildfires around Sao Paulo Brazil have prompted fans and media alike to question if the game can even be played there. Aaron Nagler sets the record straight on some of the misinformation surrounding the game.
Packers offense looks much different than last time it faced Eagles
The Green Bay Packers offense returns just four players who played in the 2022 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jordan Love and Christian Watson connected for their first touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of the game.
Last season, seven different Packers led the team in catches in a game and eight different in yards in a game. The leader in both? Romeo Doubs. Four others led either category at least three times: Reed, Musgrave, Wicks and Watson. But what's so startling looking back to the last Packers-Eagles game is how different the Packers offense will look from that Week 12 game almost two years ago.

After a few more, CB Jaire Alexander went up to LaFleur and told him loves this new guy.

Packers Roster Moves Dispelled Cut Down Day Myths
Cut down time always springs a few surprises, and this year was no different, with Green Bay’s general manager Brian Gutekunst catching people off guard with various moves.
This included trading for quarterback Malik Willis from Tennessee, cutting both Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt, the incumbent backups to Jordan Love, as a result. A.J. Dillon’s placement on season-ending injured reserve with a stinger was another shock.
But this year’s finalization of the Packers roster also served to dispel a couple of myths which have ubiquitously viewed as fact.

Confessions of a Polluted Mindset - Vamo Embora!
Let's Go! That's the English translation of Vamo Ebora!(sometimes shortened to Bora!). The 2024 NFL season is upon us and the Packers (and the Eagles) are being showcased in the first ever international game played in Brazil.
Newly-minted multi-millionaire Jordan Love leads the team into Sao Paulo against an Eagles team that finished last season in the opposite direction that the Packers did. But that doesn't mean the Packers should feel comfortable about this game. The Eagles will be motivated to put the NFL on notice that last season's swoon was a fluke and the real Eagles team was the one that started off 10-1. Conversely, the Packers will be wanting to show that their run deep into the playoffs was NOT a fluke. That they really are that good. The odds are that both of these things are true, so expect a close, hard-fought game under the bright lights of Corinthians Stadium.
