Packers Get Steamrolled By Ravens

Ravens Run Over Packers, 41-24
The Green Bay Packer defense had no ability to stop Derrick Henry Saturday night. In what would prove to be the Packers’ final home game of the 2025 season, Henry steamrolled his way to 216 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-24 Baltimore Raven romp. The 216 rushing yards are the most ever by an opposing running back at Lambeau Field.
“That was a humbling night,” Matt LaFleur said after the game. “Unfortunately it wasn’t up to our standard in how we play, how we coach, and that’s what happens.”
The defensive sieve overshadowed Malik Willis’ performance in a battle of backup quarterbacks. Willis, in for Jordan Love (concussion), outshined Tyler Huntley who started for Lamar Jackson (back). The pending free agent from Liberty completed 18-of-21 passing with two drops included, accounted for 348 total yards, and three total scores.
“He made play after play after play out there,” LaFleur said. “He threw the ball accurately. It was kind of a crazy week in regards to him not getting many (practice) reps. He was dialed in and I thought he played outstanding.”
The other silver lining aside from Willis – albeit unintentional – is that Green Bay locked itself into the NFC’s seventh seed for the playoffs. Key, banged up players should be able to get extra rest before their road wild card game in two weeks. The roster desperately needs a break after another game’s injury report reads like a CVS receipt.

Ravens 41 Packers 24 Game Balls & Lame Calls
Heading into Saturday night's game, the Packers still had a sliver of hope that they could snatch the division crown out of the hands of the Chicago Bears. Instead, they'll have to wait for 2026. In fact, since the Packers were last division champs in 2021, every other team in the North has won the crown but the Packers. It's a hard reality, but it's the one we find ourselves in.
The Packers fall to Baltimore, in what will officially be the team's last home game of 2025. It was a bit of an odd affair, where I think it could be fair to say that game was simultaneously closer than the score might indicate, and the Packers were lucky to not have lost by more.
After cutting the score to 27-24 in the third quarter, the Packers would not score again, while the Ravens stacked another 14 points. Derrick Henry added to his illustrious hall of fame career with 216 yards and 4 touchdowns. Overall, the Ravens gained 307 yards on the ground, a culmination of the Packers' struggles on the ground all year long. Green Bay is lucky to have already locked up a playoff position following Detroit's loss on Thursday, although it may be possible that that security is what led to a half-hearted effort?

Packers Snap Counts Vs. Baltimore: Week 17, 2025
The Packers placed TE John Fitzpatrick and LB Kristian Welch on injured reserve. The team activated DE Colin Oliver off of the reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. With Jordan Love still in the concussion protocol, the Packers elevated QB Clayton Tune from the practice squad, and they also elevated TE Drake Dabney to help replace Fitzpatrick.
The inactive players due to injury were Jordan Love (concussion), WR Savion Williams (illness), and Zach Tom (knee). DE Colin Oliver, Barryn Sorrell, and DT Nazir Stackhouse were healthy scratches. The Packers evidently prefer Brenton Cox to Sorrell and Jordan Riley and Bohanna to Stackhouse. OL Donovan Jennings finally got on the field.
Zayne Anderson (ankle), Jordan Riley (achilles), Kamal Hadden (leg), Dontayvion Wicks (concussion), and Nate Hobbs (knee) were all injured during the game, with Riley and Hadden being carted off. It seems very likely that the injuries to Hadden and Riley are season-ending. Malik Willis also left the game but Coach LaFleur said that Willis could have returned to the game had the score been closer.

The Lass Word: Empty Feeling

Just because you make the playoffs doesn’t mean you are a playoff-caliber team. The Green Bay Packers certainly didn’t look the part Saturday night. It’s difficult to recall another game when a Packer defense took the kind of physical beating this team endured from the Ravens.
I am hard pressed to blame coordinator Jeff Hafley. There aren’t any brilliant adjustments or strategies you can turn to when your players are simply being manhandled. It was stunning to see green jerseys being easily shoved backwards upon contact all night. Derrick Henry ‘s historic 216 yards rushing will get all the attention, and it probably should. But Tyler Huntley is an underrated back-up quarterback who skillfully crushed any comeback possibilities by converting third down after third down, making smart decisions and using his legs effectively for 60 yards of his own.
The loss locks Green Bay into the seventh seed in the NFC. They will begin the playoffs on the road against the division winner with the best record. But playoff talk feels irrelevant right now. With a weak defense, no running game, banged up quarterbacks, and a three game losing streak, the Packers are not ready for post season-level play. It will be most interesting to see how Matt LaFleur wants to handle the final regular season game at Minnesota. Will he just rest the starters and take another loss? Doing so means his team will stumble into the playoffs having lost four straight. Then again, if you play starters, you might get even more players hurt….
