Thanks to everyone who joined us during the draft!

We wanted to send out a heartfelt “thank you” to each and every one of you who joined us online or in person over the three days of the NFL Draft last week. Corey welcomed in Packers fans from all over the state (and indeed a few from out-of-state) Thursday night at the Lyric Room in downtown Green Bay. The three livestreams featured Packers fans from all over the world and Aaron held it down for just over seven hours on Saturday for Day 3. Special thanks to Spencer Young for sharing his creative talents with us on Thursday night!

Packers 2024 Draft: The Reasons Behind the Picks

Brian Gutekunst entered this draft wanting to get faster on defense, and deeper at safety, linebacker, offensive line and running back. Missions accomplished. He drafted no receivers, defensive linemen or edge rushers (although Edgerrin Cooper can play edge). This will be a significant influx of new young talent that will immediately push for playing time, perhaps ensuring Green Bay remains the youngest team in the league. It’s a strategy that worked surprisingly well last season. Will it take the Packers to the next level this fall?

Packers Deep Dive -- First Round Pick Jordan Morgan

It is a rare occasion when the Packers select an offensive player in the first round of the NFL Draft. It has only happened five times in the past twenty years. However, Jordan Morgan, Green Bay's first-round draft pick from the 2024 draft, will be joining good company. Take a deep dive into the Packers first round selection.

Packers Deep Dive — 2nd Round Pick Edgerrin Cooper

It’s clear that Edgrrin Cooper can be lined up all over the place, and one gets the sense that in many ways he’s a better, more aggressive version of Quay Walker, with a higher ability to get to and/or follow the quarterback. He has a great knack for sliding past offensive linemen using his quick burst and a sneaky dip move under the arms of would-be blockers. Take a deep dive on one of the Packers second round selections.

Who is going to play where for the Packers in Jeff Hafley's defense?

Aaron chats with Cody Alexander, the founder of Match Quarters, about the new pieces on defense and how they may all fit together in Jeff Hafley's new defense in Titletown.

Packers Deep Dive -- Second Round Pick Javon Bullard

Javon Bullard was a tremendous find for the Packers at the end of the second round. It's hard to imagine why a player with this many positive attributes fell to the 58th overall pick. Green Bay certainly got one of the best safeties coming out of college. Bullard is an excellent athlete with impressive acceleration and burst. He is also highly intelligent with sharp processing skills and the physicality and toughness to punish ball carriers. He should be the front runner going into training camp for the other safety position opposite of Xavier McKinney.

Packers Deep Dive - Third Round Draft Pick MarShawn Lloyd

MarShawn Lloyd’s profile somewhat resembles his new teammate Josh Jacobs, who has similar dimensions at 5’10”, 220 lbs, although Lloyd has the top end athletic traits Jacobs lacked coming out of Alabama. They are both explosive runners with natural instincts for the position. As a rookie, Lloyd will not be forced into the starting lineup, with Jacobs and A.J. Dillon already on the roster, and can be used to provide an exciting change of pace. In time, he has all the tools to develop into a high quality, starting three-down back.
